Tango!!!

Project #2 while everyone's away is to try and get J's 1972 Fiat 500, Tango, running.
Flat battery charging right now :-)
Anyway, which do you prefer?
Old style Fiat 500 as above, or, new style?
Please don't say the new 500L as that's just obscene and doesn't count! :-)

Official Geek Day!

So, with the family away for a few days I thought I'd crack open a beer, open some crisps, put my feet up and.....upgrade my old PC to Windows 10! :-)
What a journey!
Anyway after several more beers, numerous issues and non-issues it's there and working away fine.
The non-issues?
After so many periods of just waiting for something to happen it took me half an hour to realise that the screenshot in the photo is merely a screensaver and disappears if you click the mouse :-)
The issues?
Jumbo graphics, dual screen mode with only one real screen (useless and utterly frustrating as every application was opening on the non-existent phantom monitor) and also low volume that only a dog could hear - anyway, all resolved :-)

Walking to Fife?

Ok, they're not, but with the tide being so far out, the local swimming club had a good distance to travel before reaching any water this morning - if you look closely you'll see Barney thought he'd join them in there too :-)

Saturday 1 August 2015

Wow, sharp dresser!

And Jacqueline scrubs up well too :-)
A fine day out at Dynamic Earth for the wedding of Adam and Mo.

Thursday 30 July 2015

Cockenzie...soon to be blasted to smithereens

Not long now until the towers are blasted to smithereens.
I hope it's a nice day so we can actually watch it happen :-)

Monday 27 July 2015

Weather Malfunction?

Surely there must be some kind of mistake or error!
This is supposed to be summer? Right?

Thursday 23 July 2015

The new Orange and Black?

Orange and Blue...I may need to reconsider my favourite colour combo :-)

Early riser!

I hope she doesn't bump into that Jelly-Fish we met on Sunday!

Monday 20 July 2015

Morning Glow...

Straight from the camera :-)
Not a bad view of North Berwick Law from Porty this morning.

Sunday 19 July 2015

Wibble Wobble...

Wibble Wobble, Jelly on a plate the sand!
This was a biggy, nearly 60cm across!

Saturday 18 July 2015

Team Barney! Champs!

Max and Barney delighted to pick up 4th place in the Junior dog handling section of the Newhailes show this morning.
Personally I think they deserved 1st - but then I'm biased :-)
Barney also picked up 5th in the best rescued round...

The Condemned Man

Adam (sitting) looking pretty relaxed considering he's due to be married in a couple of weeks.
The world was sorted out over a couple of beers and a curry :-)

Monday 13 July 2015

Decent Descent!

My summer watch of choice just now.
These Bremonts are pretty tough, and beach friendly :-)
This is the Bremont Descent, Limited to 407 pieces - this particular one is #2.

The Loomband King

Max, king of anything loombands :-)

Knife through butter!

Perfect day for a perfect swim.
A masterclass in Freestyle - hardly a splash as this swimmer cut through the sea this morning!

Saturday 4 July 2015

Homeward bound

Good old Landy, takes it all in its stride :-)
(ahem, only a few wee hic-ups on the way down...)

Saturday 13 June 2015

Tired man!

Barney's had his first run on the beach since his op on the 25th May this morning :-)
A very happy, but tired, man :-)

Back on track?

So after a few technical hitches it appears that June could be back on track.
We now have normal weather again :-)

Saturday 30 May 2015

Friday 29 May 2015

Tornado!!!?

Ok, it wasn't, but it did look like 1 for about 30 seconds :-)

Thursday 28 May 2015

Oh My...

Great news re Barney this afternoon.
The biopsy results came back today and turns out his tumour was fairly low grade and there was no evidence of anything nasty at the margins of the surrounding area that they removed.
He's recovering well from the op on Monday and once the stitches are removed and his fur's grown back in we expect he'll be completely normal again and racing up and down the beach :-)
Fantastic work again by the staff @ the Dick Vet - it's only 2 weeks ago tomorrow since we discovered the lump and in that short time he's been tested, x-rayed, operated on and biopsied - we're lucky to have such a great place here in Edinburgh.

Yeah, the car - spotted this Porsche 918 Spyder parked in George St this afternoon.
I think it might well be the most expensive road car I've ever seen close up on a public road!
All 918 built were originally sold out for a whopping $850,000 end of last year and there was one recently on sale for $1,350,000.
That is just crazy money - maybe even beyond footballer salaries...?

In other news, I've just upgraded my iPhone so have no clue what's going on with my photos - I don't have any recent ones on it (yet?) but 1000's of photos from years ago are currently downloading themselves to it!

p.s. apparently the Porsche was still there 4 hours later, with traffic wardens all over it...

p.p.s. the number plate was 918E - that alone is probably out of my reach!

Tuesday 19 May 2015

Oh Barney!

Last Friday morning we noticed a small lump the size of a large peanut just above Barney's right hock.
A fine needle aspiration later that day revealed a suspected soft tissue sarcoma.
On Tuesday he was back at the vets for more tests and X-Rays.
Thankfully everything else appears normal and there are no other signs of anything dodgy anywhere else.
In fact he's extremely fit and healthy otherwise.
Anyway, it could all be nothing and just an inflamation, however just to be sure, he's booked in to get it removed next Monday.
I can't pretend we haven't been worried, but the oncologist reckons after a few weeks he should be back to his beach runs again.
Fingers crossed for a smooth op and a speedy recovery :-)

Sunday 17 May 2015

Newhailes

What a week.
Nice trip to Newhailes during a break in the Wacky weather.
What happened to summer?
:-)
