Oh My...

Great news re Barney this afternoon.
The biopsy results came back today and turns out his tumour was fairly low grade and there was no evidence of anything nasty at the margins of the surrounding area that they removed.
He's recovering well from the op on Monday and once the stitches are removed and his fur's grown back in we expect he'll be completely normal again and racing up and down the beach :-)
Fantastic work again by the staff @ the Dick Vet - it's only 2 weeks ago tomorrow since we discovered the lump and in that short time he's been tested, x-rayed, operated on and biopsied - we're lucky to have such a great place here in Edinburgh.

Yeah, the car - spotted this Porsche 918 Spyder parked in George St this afternoon.
I think it might well be the most expensive road car I've ever seen close up on a public road!
All 918 built were originally sold out for a whopping $850,000 end of last year and there was one recently on sale for $1,350,000.
That is just crazy money - maybe even beyond footballer salaries...?

In other news, I've just upgraded my iPhone so have no clue what's going on with my photos - I don't have any recent ones on it (yet?) but 1000's of photos from years ago are currently downloading themselves to it!

p.s. apparently the Porsche was still there 4 hours later, with traffic wardens all over it...

p.p.s. the number plate was 918E - that alone is probably out of my reach!

Oh Barney!

Last Friday morning we noticed a small lump the size of a large peanut just above Barney's right hock.
A fine needle aspiration later that day revealed a suspected soft tissue sarcoma.
On Tuesday he was back at the vets for more tests and X-Rays.
Thankfully everything else appears normal and there are no other signs of anything dodgy anywhere else.
In fact he's extremely fit and healthy otherwise.
Anyway, it could all be nothing and just an inflamation, however just to be sure, he's booked in to get it removed next Monday.
I can't pretend we haven't been worried, but the oncologist reckons after a few weeks he should be back to his beach runs again.
Fingers crossed for a smooth op and a speedy recovery :-)
